The Finnish Startup Community and Nordea Form Partnership to Strengthen Collaboration Between the Startup Ecosystem and the Financial Sector.
The Finnish Startup Community and Nordea have signed a partnership agreement to strengthen cooperation between the Finnish startup ecosystem and the financial sector and promote entrepreneurship and innovation.
The Finnish Startup Community has grown to include over 260 growth companies and venture capital investors. A more extensive membership base brings more connections and opportunities for collaboration between companies and investors, which can accelerate financing arrangements and create new types of partnerships. This growth has also created a need for strategic alliances.
The startup community is pleased that Nordea has taken a stronger role in supporting the Finnish startup ecosystem.
“We have found that strategic corporate partnerships are an effective model for accelerating the growth of the startup ecosystem. Our goal is for Nordea to become a natural part of the community, with its services and expertise reaching our members through various networking events,” says Riikka Pakarinen, CEO of the Finnish Startup Community.
Nordea, the largest bank in the Nordics, has its own Nordea Startup & Growth unit. This unit specializes in serving growth companies and early-stage startups that aim for strong expansion.
“The Finnish Startup Community has rapidly grown into a significant player in our country’s growth ecosystem. Through this partnership, our goal is to enhance collaboration between startups, growth companies, and investors, ensuring that Finland experiences economic growth and job creation through the success of the technology and innovation sectors. We want to engage actively and comprehensively with the entire membership base,” says Vesa Riihimäki, Head of Nordea’s Growth Business Bank.
The partnership provides the Finnish Startup Community’s member companies with joint learning and expertise-sharing opportunities, networking events, and the chance to meet Nordea’s financial experts. Startups can further develop their businesses through joint events, training sessions, and mentoring.
